You’re invited to dine…
Enjoy home-cooked food seasoned with individual service
Quality dining in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, begins at South Lodge. Peruse our sample menus to see what we mean. Dinner is not something we do every night, but if you’re staying with us, your host, Julia Cox, can be persuaded to cook. She’s self-taught from the school of delicious, well crafted, home-cooked cuisine. In fact, by popular request, we’re gradually introducing dinner more often. You’ll be thoroughly looked after by your host and you’re welcome to bring a guest, too. Simply tell us about any special dietary needs.
[Tell Me More]
- Enjoy a comprehensive continental breakfast including cheese and meats plus a little ‘hot dish of the day’ treat, such as eggs Benedict, corn cakes with maple syrup or maybe scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.
- In the evening you might savour a scrumptious risotto or one of Julia’s moreish ‘one pot’ dishes.
- Get your taste buds tingling with dreamy desserts: perhaps an irresistible bread and butter pudding (with double the custard!). And as for the meringues…
With all the guests around one large dining table, the atmosphere is completely different to a hotel restaurant. (Alcohol licence pending.) After dinner, stay and chat with other guests, if you like. The colourful and contemporary modern art and décor are interesting conversation points and, every so often, Julia will join you for dinner too. The glass doors in the dining room open right out onto the beautiful garden, and on warm, sunny days you can eat outside.
- Taste our fresh and home-ground coffee, including organic, or try something refreshing from our extensive range of teas, including organic Numi tea with fruit, flower and herbal infusions (as used by Raymond Blanc).
- If you’re short of time in the morning, simply ask us for your very own ‘breakfast to go’, complete with your choice of coffee or tea – all in its own conveniently-styled portable packaging.
We have a Local Authority five star rating for catering hygiene. All our food is sourced locally, where possible, and we buy Fairtrade and organic products at every opportunity.
