Fresh from the garden

We are really pleased to tell our existing and potential customers that the first year of extensive fruit and vegetable growing is proving to be a success! in the past week we have supplied salad leaves and beautiful waxy ‘Anya’ potatoes to over fifty people at events here; evening meal can include our own peas, French beans, baby carrots, garlic, shallots or red onions. Cucumbers, tomatoes and beetroot are still to come. The red fruit is just coming to an end but our breakfasts standard is to be maintained in the months to come by a supply of home grown and made black currant, strawberry and raspberry jam. Local cherries have been stunning this year and the preserve it produces is proving to be an big favourite.

It's such a delight to go and collect from the garden - and to see that another part of the South lodge plan is truly ‘coming to fruition’!
